NASPE Standard 2

Standard 2: Skill and Fitness Based Competence

Physical education teacher candidates are physically educated individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to demonstrate competent movement performance and health enhancing fitness delineated in the NASPE K-12 Standards

Being part of a physical educator is to have skill and fitness based competence and to achieve and maintain a health-enhancing level of fitness throughout the program (2.2).  During my time at SUNY Cobleskill I was part of the varsity soccer team both years I was there.  These game statistics of a contest against Wilson College show my involvement in the athletic program. My involvement in activity continued here at Cortland by joining a recreational indoor soccer team in the fall.  By being involved in sports teams and other physical activity I will be able to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
