Certifications and Achievements

During my time here at Cortland, I have been striving to become more involved in physical education by becoming certified in many different areas necessary for my personal growth as a professional.  During my fall semester, I completed my CAR (Child Abuse Reporter) workshop along with the S.A.V.E (Safe Schools Against Violence in Education) workshop. Along with those workshops, I am a professional member of NYS APHERD, which is very important in the physical education field.  During my 201 experience at St. Mary's our class completed the Diocese of Syracuse Virtus training before interacting with the students. This past semester I participated in the EKP (Educational Karate Program) certification, which allows me to be able to teach Self Defense in a school setting. After my first semester here at Cortland I was on the Dean's List and was also inducted into Tau Sigma (Honor Society for Transfer Students) for having a 3.6 gpa. Being part of that is a great  honor and I'm looking forward to making future transfer students have great experiences.
